New Garmin nüvi® GPS models for our fleet management solution

Over the past few months, Garmin has released new models of their popular nüvi series, replacing
the now obsolete nüvi 5000. Several of the new models support our fleet management protocol and can be used for our fleet management solution with interGATE.

In this regard, we would especially like to highlight the nüvi® 465TF and 1490T models, which are both thinner and feature a 4.3-inch and 5-inch large screen display, respectively. Both models have extra features, such as Lane Assist and Junction View. For more information, please visit your local Garmin web site.

 

iV Notes

No more sticky notes

iV-Notes is a module to communicate important information and short messages - simply and efficiently. iV-Notes can be used from any client on the company network and runs separately from the alarm handling. Imagine that something happens that you want to share with the whole network as quickly as possible. Let's say that the phone system is down for maintenance for the next three hours. In this case, you might want to inform everybody on the network that you have invoked different procedures, until the phone system is back online. Or let's say that you have a message to a particular group of operators in charge of a particular customer group. Or ... something else entirely! No matter what, the message has to be delivered as soon as possible and may be important to one or more individuals. iV Notes is the perfect tool for this.

SIA conversion in interVIEW

As of interVIEW ver. 2.3v3, SIA and Contact ID signals can be converted directly in interVIEW instead of through the concentrator. It is possible to create individual SIA/CID conversions per panel type, which provides significantly more flexibility than before. It is (still) important to stay focused when you define the conversions. Especially when it comes to SIA, as many panel manufacturers (and installers) have a broad scope for "creative" use of the SIA standards.

Tips & Tricks

Did you know that ...?
... you can easily add an image (e.g. a logo) to a report? Do the following:

1. Create an image as a BMP file with max. size of 1.80 cm by 8.85 cm. You get the best quality by maintaining the 180/885 ratio in the resolution (e.g. 180 pixels X 885 pixels).
2. Name the BMP file: [ivReportLogo.bmp].
3. Save the file to the following folder: [C: \ Program Files \ interVIEW \ Bin]. Note: The file must be in the same folder Report as kernel [RepNuc.exe].
From now on, the logo will appear in the top right corner when you generate a report.

Documentation

We have just released a fully updated and revised interVIEW manual (ver. 2.3n-1) in PDF format. The manual covers all aspects of system configuration and alarm handling. Initially, the manual will be available in English, with the Danish version following shortly. The manual will be included on the installation CD as well as available for download on our website.

We have expanded our 112-solution so that it is now possible for the Alarm Receiving Centres to see the location of all defibrillators in Denmark and to guide to the nearest available.

December 2009:
Very stable economy and great creditworthiness
Again this year Innovative Business Software A/S has been rewarded AAA-credit- rating which reflects the highest credit rating by the Danish credit-rating agency, Soliditet A/S
Only 8.165 companies equivalent to 3,8 % of the companies with accountability in Denmark have made it through the eye of the needle this year.
The AAA rating is given to companies with a very stable economy and in particular being able to meet current liabilities to pay.

Sept. 19 2007: IBS has in co-operation with the Danish National Police carried out a pilot project with interVIEW fleet for the alarm monitoring centre at Odense Police. TV2 FYN shows a result of this project.
The Danish Police has, after this successful pilot project, decided to implement interVIEW fleet in all patrol vehicles and all district alarm receiving centres outside Copenhagen.

01-03-05: interVIEW for medical emergency coordination in Region South
AMK SOUTH (Medical Emergency Coordination), which is handled by Odense University Hospital, is now ready to receive electronic alarms on interVIEW. The system enables AMK to send the injured to the hospital with the right resources. Furthermore the system sends early warnings to the local hospitals and in this way prepare them to receive the casualties. MEC is coordinating the medical emergency management for the hospitals in Odense, Svendborg, Vejle, Horsens, Kolding, Esbjerg and Åbenrå.

25-02-05: The Danish National Police use interVIEW to receive 112-alarms
Danish National Police has chosen interVIEW to receive 112-alarms on all local police stations outside Copenhagen. Live use starts in March 2005.

A new Italian central monitoring station - Securgest S. r. l - has chosen interVIEW. They will be live on interVIEW in the begining of February.

22-03-04 The 2004 Homeland and Global Security Summit:
Export drive to USA. In continuation of IBS's supply to The Danish police and the Danish Emergency Management Agency IBS participates on the Danish stand on "The 2004 Homeland and Global Security Summit" in Washington on March 31- April 1, 2004. The attendance is taking place in cooperation with the Dansk Industri, the Trade Commission of Denmark, and the Danish - American Business Forum. 01-03-04 interVIEW controls the sirens:
The Danish Emergency Management Agency has readjusted the Danish siren system. Sirens are now activated, tested, and maintained by interVIEW.

01-12-03 EENA 2003:
IBS presented the Danish 1-1-2 solution on the "First European 1-1-2 Conference and Exhibition in Brussels" organised by "European Emergency Number Association". The purpose of the conference was to establish a forum for all who had interest in improving the European 1-1-2 service, emergency force, operators, organisations, companies, and politicians. IBS is member of the organisation and contributed to the conference with a speech about the new 1-1-2 system in Denmark and presented the system on the belonging exhibition. The presentation was received positively and was emphasized as a good example for the rest of Europe. In the same time the conference gave an insight into the future challenges regarding further development of 1-1-2 solutions. The conference was a success and will be a returning event. 01-12-03 Employment:
To strengthen our customer service further, we have expanded the working force with a Support Technician - Dennis B Blynov. Dennis will support customers, install, and test new software versions etc.

12-11-03 interVIEW controls sirens for the Danish Emergency Management Agency:
The Danish Emergency Management Agency is readjusting the management of the Danish siren system. In the future sirens will be activated, tested, and maintained by interVIEW.

19-09-03 Exhibition - Sikring & sikkerhed 2003 in Odense:

31-05-03 Turnover up by 40%:
The annual accounts for 2002 show a turnover of DKK 8,083,000, corresponding to a rise by just over 40% on 2001. Net profit came to DKK 754,000.

26-05-03 International user-group meeting:
An international user-group meeting was held in Copenhagen. Once again, the dialogue was positive and we received significant input for future development activities. We hope that the participants found the meeting useful. A decision was made to continue the division into an international and Danish user-group meeting. The next meeting will be held in one or two years.

29-04-03 Implementation:
As the last of the Danish police's alarm centrals, the central in Esbjerg was deployed today. The central covers the counties of Ribe and Vejle, while that of Sønderjylland is likely to be connected in June 2003. By then, all police centrals should run the 112 software.

24-03-03 Implementation:
To meet the need for immediate alarm of the emergency services to be activated in connection with an accident on the Great Belt Link, a 112 alarm extension was today put into operation at Slagelse police station. The system replaces the previous telephone alarm. In future, the alarm will be electronic in the same way as the emergency services are alarmed in case of a 112 call to an alarm central.

01-01-03 Service agreements:
As a result of a change in TDC's service concept for alarm receiving centres, TDC has cancelled a number of service agreements with users of IBS products. The majority of these customers have therefore signed a service agreement directly with us. We look forward to mutually beneficial cooperation and will do our best to service all satisfactorily.

01-11-02 Reception:
On the occasion of IBS's twentieth birthday, we would like to invite our customers, business connections and friends to a reception on Friday, 15 November 2002.

21-10-02 Annual user-group meeting for Danish customers:
We thank all the participants at this meeting for coming.
The main theme of this meeting was "interVIEW functionality today". IBS demonstrated the new functions and software potential. The user group was then given time for discussion, presentation of new ideas and, not least, exchange of experience. IBS also presented the 112 Alarm receiving function that is available now in interVIEW, security routines and user-defined interfaces for external systems.

We are sorry to announce that the meeting supposed to take place on 24 October 2002 is cancelled. The meeting will be held later.

20-09-02 User-group meeting:
Based on the response from the previous meeting held last year, we have decided to arrange two user-group meetings - an international and one for the Danish customers. The international meeting will be held in English and will, of course, be open to our Danish customers. The Danish meeting will take place on 21 October and the international meeting on 24 October. Invitations are on their way.

17-05-02 Annual accounts:
The annual accounts for 2001 show a turnover of DKK 5.7 million, up from DKK 4.3 million in 2000.
Net profit was DKK 600,000.

03-05-02 Employment:
To strengthen our development department, we have expanded the group by hiring an experienced software developer. Erik Møller worked for IBS during the period 1985-90. During the period afterwards, Erik Møller worked in the United States with development and implementation of large-scale IT projects.

19-03-02 Employment:
Due to the increasing inflow of orders, IBS has hired Jens Larsen as Project Manager. Jens Larsen, MA, has 10 years' experience in planning and implementation of IT projects.

26-10-01 Employment:
To attend to our book-keeping department, we have hired Vivi Mønsted as at today. Vivi Mønsted is an experienced accountant to whom we can hand over all accounting matters

30-08-01 Employment:
IBS has re-hired Stig A. Porsgaard. Stig A. Porsgaard was employed with IBS during the period 1995-1998. Stig A. Porsgaard is a civil engineer and will be a member of our development team. He will take up his position on 1 October.

24-08-01 New agreement:
Today, TDC Teledanmark and IBS have signed an agreement on the development and supply of a new programs and database to the Danish police's 112 alarm centrals throughout the country.

03-06-01 Deployment:
As the first of the Danish Police's alarm centrals - the central in Aarhus now runs the new 112 software.

01-02-01 Employment:
We have expanded our working force with a new function. Annette Bindesbøll has been hired to attend the secretarial functions and use her designer experience to improve our graphic look.

More focus on documentation

In our efforts to maintain the best customer support, we are increasing our focus on documentation. We have therefore recently employed Peter Stelling in the role as technical writer/supporter.

Tips & Tricks

Keep the system account updated

Every time you change the interVIEW system configuration (e.g. upgrading software, adding components), remember to also update the system account (zsys0001).

The system account reports internal interVIEW system alarms. For example, if the connection to the position server is lost, and the system account has been updated with the relevant system zones and instructions, then interVIEW will immediately report that connection to the position server has been lost and provide the operator with the instructions on how to handle the system alarm.

However, if the system account has not been updated, then the operator will simply receive an "Unknown Zone" system alarm. And since the instructions have not been defined, the operator will not know how to handle the alarm.

Innovative continuously adds new features and interfaces to interVIEW, which may include new system zones. Therefore, it is important to keep the system zones and the applicable instructions updated.
