Innovative
Business Software A/S (IBS) was founded in 1982 with the purpose to effectuate
the alarm treatment in the alarm monitoring centers by using the newest computer
technology. The increased efficiency opened a new market for the alarm monitoring
centers, as it was now possible to reduce the price for a single connection and
thereby sell solutions to the private home market. The basic for the last 25 years
continuous growth in number of sites handled by one alarm monitoring centre was
created. The
first IBS system, a IBM series 1-based alarm system, was able to treat alarms,
services, invoices, and was a turning-point for us, as our large sized customers
abroad acquired huge market shares on the expanding security market by using the
new technology. In
the middle of the 80'ties the computers formed the basis for more low-priced systems
that also gave the small installations possibility to derive advantages of the
new technology. IBS followed the development and introduced CMS/DOS (PC alarm
receiving center). In the same time a new cooperation was established with KTAS
(a former Danish telephone company) to receive alarms via the Public Network (Alarm
Net). The easy and stable system and the extended use of the AlarmNet ensured
IBS a solid market share in Denmark. The
gradually great experience within the security industry did also give us the opportunity
to take over the system responsibility for the emergency call center in Copenhagen. The
increased use of UNIX and programs to control the relational databases in the
end of the 80ties gave new possibilities to develop systems for the large sized
customers. IBS' developed SBN, Security Business Net, to meet the customer requirements.
The system was able to treat alarms, handle service and invoices. Besides it was
possible to extend the system with different modules that were able to market,
sale, inventory etc., a complete software solution for the central stations with
a large amount of customers. The new system brought along a quick increase in
the amount of large sized customers in both Europe and in the States and we realized
that it was required to have an office in Dallas, Texas. In
the mid 90ties it was time to make changes. The necessary graphical user interface
was dominating. It brought along readjustments of the system for the emergency
call centre in Copenhagen. The system was adjusted with a graphical user interface,
which led to further development of completely new alarm treatment software for
the alarm receiving centers. The reason for further development was the now available
relational database for Windows NT that was able to run 24 hours. As expected,
our customers now required the new platform. When the European market also started
to demand for the Windows based systems, we decided to move the development of
SBN to Dallas and devoted all our attention to development of an alarm treatment
system based on the new Windows standards. To
get the full output of the new technology the system was developed from the base
so the architecture was up-to-date with the new requirements and potentials.
The goal was, with a starting point in our many year experiences, to develop a
system that was able to meet needs of any sized alarm receiving centers. The key
words were; security, flexibility, and scalability. The
result was interVIEW that was introduced to the market in 1998. We
were capable to fulfil the above mentioned goals and the system turned out to
be an excellent base for the further development, which is necessary in order
to live up to the continual technical changing possibilities, expectations, and
requirements.
As a consequence of the new division of labour between Dallas and Copenhagen,
the co-operation stopped in 1999 and the faithful staff took over the Danish company.
Our
latest development is a complete new solution for the emergency call centers:
The new solution has given IBS the opportunity to provide all emergency call centers
in Denmark with the newest Alarm 112 system. |
